That implies some external force. The fact that the golden age of the literary bad boy stretches from the decades preceeding the initial women's movement in the early 1800s past the decades when feminism has started to look pretty moribund says something about women and the women's movement themselves.

As for Jane Eyre . . . I cannot express my full hatred for that book. I still do not believe that book is about anything beyond the basic and timeless subject of "the other bitch" and ultimately winning the man.

Plus Jane Eyre embodies the worst form of writing: events occur in order to fix things for the protagonist. Yay! Inheritance. Yay! Fire. Yay, Jane gets to do things on her terms with her jerkboy who she marries. Good righting uses occurrences to create dilemmas. Bad writing uses occurrences to fix dilemmas. From that view, Jane Eyre is just bad writing. The Aloof Guyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14179363851251193649noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1004049351831453726.post-40863253910133951642014-08-26T11:09:56.508-04:002014-08-26T11:09:56.508-04:00This comment has been removed by the author.Jenniferhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04092716522294435482noreply@blogger.com
